A unique and unforgettable destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and wildlife of Outback Queensland.
Charlotte Plains is a family-owned, operated sheep station and campground, near Cunnamulla – Queensland. Our Artesian Hot Springs offer a naturally heated water park for guests wishing to soak in the warm mineral-rich water, while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
In addition to the Hot Springs, we offer an authentic Australian outback experience to visitors, combining an insight into sheep station life and occasionally offering guided tours! There is also a spectacular array of birds for birdwatchers and other animals, surrounding the campgrounds.
Hot Artesian Springs are natural hot springs that occur when water is heated deep within the earth and rises to the surface under pressure. The high temperature and mineral content of the water has a relaxing effect on the muscles and can also help to improve circulation and soothe joint pain.
Camping & Accommodation
As far as relaxed settings go, it doesn’t get much better than Charlotte Plains.
Camping is the most popular option to immerse yourself – either at the Bore Campsite (Unpowered) by the Hot Artesian Baths or the Shearers Campsite (Powered) in the wide, open landscape. We also have accommodation options at the Shearers Quarters for those who prefer a ready-made bed and a roof over their head.

Private Bathing Experience!
Featuring two baths, you can relax with your partner, a friend or even the kids. You can book by the hour, a few hours or even stay overnight!
NEW: Online Merch Shop!
Find the perfect souvenir to remind you of your Charlotte Plains trip forever! Built in 2023, the Merch Hut is open on occasion, and some merch is now available online! Sometimes, during our high peak times – the Merch Hut turns into our “Bore Baa,” as we now hold a liquor license.
What activities can you do?
Bathing, swimming, star gazing, bird watching, yabby catching, walking, relaxing, exploring, tours, animal feeding, observing farm work, camp cooking, and the list goes on.Β There are many things to do and observe depending on the time of the year.

π Sunday 27th evening: Enjoy live music under the stars
π Monday 28th morning: Embark on a property tour starting at 9am from the Bore Campsite. This 2 - 2.5 hour, tag-along tour requires guests to drive their own vehicles (book online, $20 per person). Or, an optional bus transport is available for $30 per person, with only 18 seats offered on a first-come, first-served basis!
Later in the day, immerse yourself in Ballads & Bush Yarns kicking off at 4pm, featuring performances by @BradButcher_Music, and @FelicityUrquhart & @JoshCunninghamOfficial (The Waifs)! π€π

Our Bore and Shearers Campsites are open for bookings, including over Christmas and New Year. While generally peaceful, the heat can be intense π₯΅, and staffing will be limited - so the Merch Hut/Bar may not be open π©βπΎ.
Shearers Accommodation will be closed. For large group accommodation, please email stay@charlotteplains.com.au, and weβll do our best to assist.

As we approach the end of our 2024 season in a few weeks, please be aware that camping at this time of year can be quite challenging due to higher temperatures ποΈ.
Our Bore Campsite and Shearers Campsite will remain open for bookings, including over Christmas and New Year. Whilst it is generally peaceful and quiet, the temperatures can be very high and less desirable for some π₯΅. Please be aware that staffing will be limited during these months, and the Merch Hut/Bar may not be open. π©βπΎ.
Additionally, the Shearers Accommodation will be closed. If you're part of a large group needing accommodation, please email stay@charlotteplains.com.au, and weβll do our best to assist you.

Such a beautiful couple, so friendly and they done a great place looking after and updating the baths ect while we enjoyed our stay there π Trucked off round oz
Any thoughts of having a caravan on site at the bore area for hire. We have stayed at the shearer’s quarters but would love to stay at the bore to be able to pop in the baths anytime instead of driving there. We do not own a caravan or tent but love to travel.
